Eco-Justice Collaborative hopes to offer you and your community information that creates awareness and challenges that lead to action.  We believe that change needs to take place on the individual, local, national and global level if we are able to sustain life as we know it today.  On this website, you will find:

  • Analyses of how people and our environment world-wide are affected by lifestyle choices we make here at home. We make links between our use of fossil fuels, climate change and U.S. energy policy. This information is not intended to make us all feel guilty, but rather to raise consciousness and provide incentives to find ways to live that are more sustainable, giving back life to our precious earth.

  • Suggestions and recommended actions for change that both individually and collectively will reduce our impact, or ecological footprint, on our world and move our country toward energy independence.

  • A list of presentations by Eco-Justice Collaborative that are available to faith communities, colleges, high school groups, and others. These have been developed to be participatory and lead to action, s together we evaluate the relationship between lifestyle choices and our ecological footprint.

  • Periodic postings of events or workshops in the Chicago-area that you can attend.

How are our lifestyles affecting people and our environment?  What does it mean to be responsible for our actions?  Why is that word "enough" so very threatening to most of us?
